1977 Pye T.M.C. Components Ltd became Pye Electro-Devices Ltd[1]

1977 Magnetic Devices joined with Pye Electro Devices (solenoid manufacturers)

1977 December: Norman Ellis, director/general manager of the firm, became managing director of Pye Unicam

1978 January: Bernard Sargent of Egen Electric was appointed managing director[2]

1981 3 divisions established to improve product and marketing structure:

  • Relay and Solenoid
  • Switch and Display
  • Capacitor (at King's Lynn)

1981 Part of Cambridge Electronic Industries when it was incorporated as a plc.

1983 Company renamed PED
