One of the largest of the UK’s growing hospitality and catering businesses who had grown a large portfolio of hotels, restaurants, cafes, motor garages and other outlets across South Wales, and then into London. 'The Company was formed in 1895 to acquire an existing business known as "Richard Edwin Jones' Cafes," and in 1918, acquired the business of R. Jones (Garages), Ltd., and at the present date its business is divided into two main departments, one of which is devoted to catering and hotel business and the other to Motor business. The Richard Edwin Jones' Cafes" were established in 1879 in small premises in Cardiff,.....The Company holds a large number of exceedingly valuable Agencies for Pleasure and Commercial Vehicles, the sale of these Cars is developing to a degree which fully justifies all anticipations.'<ref>Sheffield Daily Telegraph - Friday 16 January 1920</ref>
