1852 Advert: 'On Thursday and Friday, February 12th and 13th, 1852.— Victoria Foundry, St. Helens, Lancashire. <br>MR. W. KIRK respectfully announces that he favoured with instructions to ARRANGE, CATALOGUE, and SELL BY AUCTION, on Thursday and Friday, February 12th and 13th, 1852. on the Premises of Messrs. Ripley and Vose, ironfounders, engineers, machine makers, &c, of the Victoria Foundry, St. Helen's, Lancashire (in consequence of the death of the latter) all the Valuable STOCK IN TRADE, STEAM ENGINES, Machinery' Tools, Patterns, Utensils, and Effects, among which may be enumerated one stationary 8-horse high-pressure steam engine and boiler, complete; together with all the mill geering, main and counter-shafting for working the machinery throughout the establishment ; new steam engines, 3-horses', 5-horses’, and 6 horses’ respectively, two of which are horizontal, and the other perpendicular motion, all by Ripley & Vose; several powerful slide, double-geered and other lathes; large upright drilling machine, all bellows, anvils, vices, benches, mechanics' and joiners' tools, &c; an immense assemblage of wood and iron patterns, for engineering and general mechanism ; about 40 tons of moulding boxes, two large cupolas, about 30 tons of pig and 12 tons of new Staffordshire bar iron, all the stock-in-trade of new castings, in parlour stoves, kitchen ranges, ovens, &c; all the office, warehouse, and workshop fixtures and fittings, strongly-built wood buildings, sheds, stables, gray horse, 14 hands high, and five years old; set of each cart and gig harness, narrow-wheeled cart, and numerous other valuable items and effects, full particulars of which will be given in future advertisement, and in catalogues, which are in course of preparation, and may be had at the works, at St. Helen's; or at the offices of the auctioneer, 24, Princess-street, Manchester. ‘<ref> Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser - Saturday 31 January 1852</ref> | 1852 Advert: 'On Thursday and Friday, February 12th and 13th, 1852.— Victoria Foundry, St. Helens, Lancashire. <br>MR.
