1863 Born at Rotherhithe

1870-74 Educated at Beccles Academy, Suffolk

1874-77 Apprenticed at A. Smith of Sidney St. Mile End

1877-81 Improver at John H. Ladd and Co

1886-90 Assistant manager at Abingdon Works Co

1890 Formed R. F. Hall Manufacturing Co

1891 Living at 27 Kingswood Road, Kings Norton: Robert F. Hall (age 28 born Rotherhithe), Engineer Manufacturing - Employer. With his wife Constance Hall (age 28 born Barley, Herts.) and their two sons; Frederick H. Hall (age 5 born Kings Norton) and George N. Hall (age 3 born Kings Norton).[2]

1894 In collaboration with Charles Sangster and Harvey Du Cros, inaugurated the Cycle Components Manufacturing Co, making fittings for the cycle trade.

1901 Living at Ferndale, Church Road, Kings Norton: Robert F. Hall (age 37 born London), Hardware manufacturer - Employer. With his wife Constance Hall (age 37 born Barley, Herts.) and their three children; Frederick H. Hall (age 15 born Moseley), Apprentice Hardware Worker; George M. Hall (age 13 born Moseley); and Constance J. Hall (age 5 born Moseley). One servant.[3]

1911 Living at Ferndale, 43 Church Road, Moseley: Robert Frederick Hall (age 48 born London), Electrical Engineer - Motor Trade - Worker. With his wife Constance Hall (age 48 born Barley, Herts.) and their daughter Constance Irene Hall (age 15 born Birmingham. One servant.[4]
