Robert Louis Noverraz (Member) of Solihull, died on Jul 29 at the age of 30. Educated at Cardiff High School, he served a student apprenticeship at Girling Cwmban and graduated at the Welsh College of Advanced Technology.
In 1964 he became a Design Engineer in the Applied Research Department at Girling Tyseley and was later appointed Quality Engineer, eventually rising to Assistant Quality Manager for the Birmingham area. During this period he was sent by the Company to their factories in Koblenz, West Germany and Bouzonbille, France, assisting them with new product quality control.
An enthusiastic supporter of the Institution, he joined the Midland Branch G and S Committee in 1964, was elected Honorary Secretary in 1966, and on his return from Koblenz in 1968, became Chairman. He was one of the initiators of the Graduate Liaison Committee and was elected its first Chairman in 1969.
At the time of his death, he was a valuable member of the Benevolent Fund Local Centre Committee. He fought his illness for a number of years, carrying on his many activities with energy and enthusiasm.
