Robert Nicholas John Schott (c1841-1915) managing director of Seebohm and Dieckstahl

1840 Born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany

1871 A clerk, lodging in Sheffield[1]

1875 Naturalised British citizen - he was unmarried, manager of the business of Seebohm and Dieckstahl at the Dannemora works, Sheffield[2]

1890 Living in Sheffield, he was a widower when he married Mary Fraser in London[3]

1891 Robt Schott 50, steel manufacturer, lived in Ecclesall Bierlow with Mary Schott 44, and lodger Arthur Balfour 18, steel manufacturer clerk[4]

1911 A Steel Manufacturer, widower, living in Harrogate[5]

ROBERT SCHOTT died at Harlow Heath, Harrogate, on February 3, 1915, aged seventy-four. He was formerly in partnership with the late Mr. Henry Seebohm as manufacturers of crucible steel at Dannemora Steelworks, Sheffield. On the conversion of the firm into a limited company he became managing director, but shortly afterwards retired from the position.

He became a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1881.
