Robert Seymour Benson (1858- )

1922 M.Inst.M.M., M.I. and S.I., Constructional and Mining Engineer, Head, Wrightson and Co., Ltd., Stockton-on-Tees; Middleton-Saint-George, Co. Durham. b. 1858. Ed. at Rugby School and Royal School of Mines. Professional Career: Associate of Royal School of Mines. Engaged in the Iron and Steel Works of the Barrow Hematite Co. and Consett Iron Co. From 1875 (sic) -1905 Managing Director of Ashmore, Benson, Pease and Co., Ltd., of Stockton-on-Tees, and from 1906 Director of Head, Wrightson and Co., Ltd., of Stockton-on-Tees. Public Position: J.P. for County of Durham. Clubs; Mining and Metallurgical, Junior Constitutional, Public Schools.
