1885 Dissolution of the Partnership between Thomas Austin Sorby and Robert Henry Sorby, carrying on business as Saw and Edge Tool Manufacturers and Merchants, at Carver-street, Sheffield, under the style or firm of Robert Sorby and Sons. The business carried on under the same style or firm by the said Thomas Austin Sorby, in copartnership with his sons Robert Arthur Sorby and Thomas Heathcote Sorby[1]
1914 Manufacturers of edge tools, joiners' tools, adzes, axes, coopers' tools, forestry and seedsmen's tools, planters tools for tea and coffee gardens, augers, scotch screw augers, carpenters shell augers, brace-screw auger bits, saws, scythes (patent and solid), reaping hooks and sickles, hay, straw and machine knives, sheep shears, files, crucible steel for mining and engineers' tools, double and single shear blister and spring steel. Eventually became part of Spear and Jackson[3]
