1909 August: set new world record for flight time in an aeroplane at Chalons in France[1]
1909 At the 1909 Doncaster Flight Meeting Roger Sommer in his Farman covered 20 laps (a distance of 30 miles) in 45 minutes and at the close of the meeting he was presented with a cup for flying the greatest aggregate distance during the event. Over the complete event Sommer clocked up an aggregate distance of 136 miles and 280 yards.
1911 On the 24 March Roger Sommer flies the world's first flight with 12 passengers a distance of 800 metres (2,625 feet) in his Sommer biplane.
