1898 The New Rossleigh Cycle and Motor Co was registered on 16 March, to take over, as from July 1897, the Rossleigh Cycle Co. [1]
1907 In May, the name was changed to the present title.
1908 'Thirteen years have come and gone since Rossleigh, Limited, opened their promises in Dundee. The firm had its origin in Edinburgh in the year 1892, and in 1896 was floated into a Limited Company. Branches were gradually opened up in Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow. and Newcastle. Pioneers of the Scottish cycle trade, they were quick to recognise the importance of the advent of the motor car, and soon had each of their branches equipped and stacked with all that was then vogue. They all along were firm believers in goods manufactured under their own supervision, and they boldly announced in 1902 the Waverley motor car, intending to pursue the same policy in the new business. It was soon found, however, that the manufacture of motor cars could only be successfully undertaken by large engineering concerns with more experience and capital order that standardisation might result. Consequently Rossleigh, Ltd., abandoned manufacture in favour of direct representation the leading makers, so that to-day the firm aro sole selling agents for many well-known manufacturers. In Dundee, Mr Parsons, the well-known engineer manager of the firm, has pinned his faith to the products of the Argyll, Daimler, Singer, Standard, and Peugeot firms, and, being in possession of one of the finest motor showrooms Scotland, has every advantage in displaying the various oars. For general repair work the garage in Ward Road most central, and is well equipped with modern tools and appliances.'[2]
