1930 'Rowland Smith (Motor), Ltd., of High Street, Hampstead, N.W.3. This firm have now been with us for some years and are recognised as our largest motor cycle dealers, and they also carry a huge stock of new and second-hand cars and motor cycles, which number somewhere about a 1,000 different models. The Directors are Mr. Rowland Smith and Miss Irene M. Bateman. the former having been connected with the industry, for a large number of years. The firm is supported by a staff of practical motor engineers.'[1]
