Royal Dutch Forge Co
Royal Dutch Forge was a metal company in Leiden, which included several departments: in addition to a coarse forge an iron foundry, engineering, construction workshop, chain factory and shipyard. The company existed from 1836 - 1978. There were two main branches: the original, located at the Zuidsingel near downtown, and in 1898 newly built chain factory annex foundry in De Waard. In 1913 land was the Outside Spaarne to Haarlem in use for the construction of hulls for ships.
