31st December 1937.
February 1960. A Shackleton low flying over the SS Capetown Castle in respect to the guests on-board; Mr and Mrs MacMillan (Prime Minister and his wife).

RMMV Capetown Castle, a motor vessel, was launched on 23 September 1937 as a passenger liner for Union-Castle Line.

1940, the progress of World War II caused her conversion to a troop ship, a role she filled until 1946, when she returned to civilian service.[1]
