Originally built c.1839.
1868 Fitted with a Daboll reed fog signal.
1875 Height reduced by 40 ft.
Late 1880s: Electric arc lighting installed. Initially there were two steam-driven Auguste de Meritens magnetos. Later replaced by Brush dynamos.
Engineered by Sir James Nicholas Douglass.
