1764 Hyman Samuels was born in London.

c.1791 His son, Samuel Hermann Samuelson, was born in Petersburg, Virginia. He went onto become a merchant in Liverpool and Hull

Samuel married Sarah Hertz. They had a number of children including 6 sons of whom several were involved in related businesses:

  • Bernhard Samuelson who was born on November 22nd 1820 in Hamburg, during Sarah's visit to the city.
  • Martin Samuelson was born in Hamburg on the 2nd January, 1825
  • Edward Samuelson, became a tobacco broker in Liverpool
  • Alexander Samuelson, born in Hamburg 20th of July, 1826
  • James Samuelson
  • Newton Samuelson (1832-1907)

1827 He returned to UK

Later moved to Liverpool as a merchant

1841 Saml Samelson 50, cigar rmerchant, lived in Liverpool with Sarah Samelson 40, Bernhard Samelson 20, Edward Samelson 15, Alexander Samelson 15, James Samelson 12, Newton Samelson 9[1]

1851 Samuel H Samuelson 60, cotton merchant, lived in Liverpool with Sarah Samuelson 54[2]

1861 S H Samuelson 71, merchant, lived in Hull with Sarah Samuelson 65[3]

1863 Died at Hull[4]
