Notes: It may be that John Street, Attorney, listed in the 1841 census with presumably his mother Sarah is actually John Widgery Street born in Sidmouth c1820 and living in Taunton in 1851 and listed as Attorney and Solicitor. He is married to Eliza and at his marriage in 1848 at Taunton he says his father is William Street, Inn Keeper (not shown as deceased). JWS later emigrated to Sydney NSW and died in 1879 age 60.

Sarah Street nee Love (1786-1865) of the Royal Clarence Hotel, Exeter

1786 November 09th. Baptised Sarah Love in Taunton the daughter of John Love and his wife Mary Jennings.

1808 July 22nd. Married at Taunton to William Street (1786- )

1822 Notice concerning the tolls on the Lyme Regis Turnpike Road to be auctioned at the house of Sarah Street of the London Inn at Sidmouth.[1]

1826 Sale of the London Inn, Sidmouth, the property of Sarah Street, who is moving to the hotel in Exeter.[2] Note: She would have been age 38.

1841 Living at the Clarence Hotel, Exeter: Sarah Street (age c52), Innkeeper. With Charlotte Street (age 25), John Street (age c21), Attorney, and Mary Love (age c39).[3]

1851 Living at the Royal Clarence Hotel, Cathedral Yard, Exeter: Sarah Street (age 60 born Taunton), Innkeeper and widow. With her sisters Mary Love (age 35 born Taunton), Unmarried, and Charlotte Tree (age 42 born Taunton), married. Six visitors listed (Guests?). Five servants (Staff?).[4]

1861 Living at Compton Gifford, Devon: Sarah Street (age 73 born Taunton), formerly an Innkeeper. She is listed as the mother-in-law of James J. Hughes and his wife Mary L. Also Mary Love (age 64 born Taunton), Unmarried and the aunt of JJH is listed in the house.[5]

1865 Died. Sarah Street age 78. Birth 1787. Residence 1 Sunderland Terrace Paddington. Home parish St Marys. Burial date 05 Sep 1865 Ford Park Cemetery, Plymouth, Walled Grave Memorial.
