1873 Coulson, Cooke and Co moved to a site at Wallsend bordering the yard of Schlesinger, Davies and Co[2]
1897 C. S. Swan and Hunter acquired the adjoining yard of Schlesinger, Davies and Co which increased the yard's total area by a further seven acres. The latter yard was re-equipped to handle a new type of construction - the construction of floating docks.
1902 the Schlesinger Davies yard was reorganised for two new building berths, 750 feet in length, for the construction of the largest types of ships.
