The Harbourside, Irvine, Ayrshire, KA12 8QE.

This is the larger of two branches of the excellent Scottish Maritime Museum, the other being the Denny Ship Model Experiment Tank, Dumbarton (also known as the Scottish Maritime Museum, Dumbarton).

The main building on the Irvine site was originally the machine shop of Alexander Stephen and Sons at Linthouse, Glasgow. It was dismantled and re-erected at Irvine. The building is an interesting structure in its own right, and contains a fascinating variety of exhibits and displays relating to marine engineering and other aspects of maritime trades.
