Scottish North Eastern Railway

The Scottish North Eastern Railway was created when the Aberdeen Railway amalgamated with the Scottish Midland Junction Railway (which had previously absorbed the Arbroath and Forfar Railway on 29 July 1856.

The company was, in turn, absorbed by the Caledonian Railway on 10 August 1866, which in turn became part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway on 1 July 1923.
