1844 John Shepherd (1816-1902) went into business on his own account, presumably as Shepherd, Wilkinson, and Co.

After late 1850s seems to have become Shepherd, Hill and Co.

By 1901 John Holroyd and Co were proprietors of Shepherd, Hill and Co
