Siemens Brothers and Co: Synchroniser
Note: This is a sub-section of Siemens Brothers and Co
1911, Siemens Brothers exhibited an "Electrical synchronising outfit".
The unit has 2 pairs of terminals together with an indicator which would show how the phase of the a.c. voltage differs between the 2 circuits and the indication would be in degrees
In use, one of these circuits would be connected to a generator that was already supplying current to users; the second circuit on the synchroniser would be connected to a different generator that was being brought up to speed - the second generator would have to be synchronised with the first one before it could be connected to the network and this device would show the operator close they were.
