Manufacturer of kitchens and bathrooms of West Yorkshire

1979 Company formed by Bill Rooney And Bob Murray (RAM from their initials)[1]

By 1991 had achieved 11.5 years of uninterrupted growth; had 15 percent of the market for kitchens and bathrooms.

1992 Accounting irregularities discovered at subsidiary Balterley Bathrooms; diversified into wooden furniture by acquiring Stag Furniture for cash[2]. The finance director subsequently resigned.

With no experience of door making, the company built Europe's largest door making factory at Barnsley[4]

1995 Acquired Crosby Sarek and Crosby Kitchens from Norcros[5]

1996 Major losses, principally due to Spring Bathrooms and Crosby Doors[6]. Had to sell the door-making business for less than the value of its assets.
