1884 Q4. Born in Wolverhampton registration district
He grew up in King's Heath, Birmingham
1901 He is aged 16 (born at W'hampton, Staffs) and living with his mother Emmerline Guy (age 42), and brothers Ewart (age 7), Frank (age 4) and Fred (age 2). [1]
1902 Sydney S. Guy began to gain practical engineering experience with an apprenticeship with Belliss and Morcom followed by a period with Veritys
In charge of testing at the electric and ordnance works of Vickers, Sons and Maxim in Birmingham and later in charge of the experimental department.

1909 At age 24 he was Works Manager of Sunbeam in Wolverhampton.

1914 Left Sunbeam, where he was works manager, to start his own company to produce commercial vehicles almost next door to Sunbeam, Guy Motors.

Pioneered the production of a variety of different kinds of motor vehicles/
1925 Introduced the first military cross-country vehicle with three-axles and four-wheel drive.

1926 Introduced the first six-wheeled double-decked bus and electric trolley-bus
1939 Introduced a four-wheeled rear-engine driven all-welded armoured car in bulletproof plate.
