Thomas Emlyn Harris, C.B., C.B.E., was chief superintendent of the Royal Ordnance Factories, Woolwich. He first took up an appointment at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, in 1924, and successively held progressive positions until being appointed to the above post in December 1950.
He was elected a Member of the Institution in 1937, and was also a Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. He studied at University College, Cardiff, and served an apprenticeship with Partridge, Jones and Company, Newport, Monmouthshire, afterwards occupying varying positions with several engineering concerns including Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Company, Ltd., Manchester.
His death took place on 18th July, 1955, at the age of sixty-one.
