1896 The company was registered on 25 July. [1]

1909 Contracted to provide 3 bridges for the SECR[2]

1923 Order from the Admiralty for 12 oil tanks to be erected abroad[3]

1930 Dorman, Long and Co acquired an interest in the company[4]

1937 Bridge builders, constructional engineers and ironfounders. [5]

1954 Dorman Long and Company became a holding company on 2 October. The Holding and Realization Agency sold all of the shares in the company to the public[6].

1956 The AGM of Dorman, Long and Co was told about the performance of the main subsidiary companies[7] including Teesside Bridge and Engineering works at Middlesborough

1965 Walkout by some of the workers when one man was dismissed[8]
