1848 Born in Ollerton, Notts, son of Evelyn and Mary Abbott, farmer and tanner[1]

1871 Thomas and Samuel Abbott, both civil engineers, were visiting London at the time of the census[2]

1881 Living at 85 Northgate, Newark: Thomas Abbott (age 35 born Ollerton), Mechanical Engineer. With his wife Sarah Abbott (age 33 born Southwark) and their children; Mary F. Abbott (age 7 born Newark); Sarah M. Abbott (age 5 born Newark); Robert E. Abbott (age 4 born Newark); Fredrick W. Abbott (age 3 born Newark); Ada B. Abbott (age 1 born Newark); and Thomas H.
