1848 Bon Lea Foundry was founded by Thomas Allan and Sons of Glasgow, as a works for making gas, water and drain pipes.
1892 Employed 200.
1900 The company was registered on 30 November, to acquire the business of ironfounders of the firm of the same name. [1]
c.1909 Taken over by Allan Ure and Co.
1936 Became a subsidiary of Federated Foundries but retained its name until 1964.
1937 Listed Exhibitor - British Industries Fair. Brick Set "Waltham" Horizontal Tubular Boiler for Heating Apparatus in Glasshouses. Hot Water Pipes and Flanged Pipes for Steam and Water Ranges. General Castings for Engineering Trades. (Stand Nos. B.909 and B.810) [2]
