Born in Hampstead.
Educacted at Leys School, Cambridge.
1898 Joined Farman Automobile Co., Long Acre
1903-04 Associated with his brother, G. H. Skinner, in the invention and development of the S.U. carburetter
The carburetter was made and marketed by G. Wailes and Co., Euston Road, in which concern he became a partner;
1912 the S.U. Carburetter company was formed. Thomas relinquished jis partnership in Wailes and Co. to run the new company
1926 Company was sold to Mr. William Morris; Thomas became Managing Director of the new company until retirement, 1948
1936 Made a Director of Morris Motors, Ltd.
1959 Director of Morris Motors, Ltd., and S.U. Carburetter Co., Ltd. (retired).
