THOMAS EDWARD IVENS died at Ealing on the 27th May, 1915, aged 70.
Trained under the late Sir John Rennie, Past-President, he entered the Indian Public Works Department in 1867. Appointed first to the Punjab Irrigation branch, he was employed on river-training work, canal construction and maintenance, and railway construction.
He next held executive charge of the Peshawur Division, and in 1889 was promoted Superintending Engineer. He retired from the service in 1895.
Afterwards he went to Delagoa Bay in connection with a harbour project, and again to India as representative of Messrs. Crompton and Company.
Mr. Ivens was elected an Associate Member on the 7th December, 1880.
