c.1830 Born in Manchester son of James Fletcher and his wife Sarah

1850 A draughtsman when he married Susannah Brown in Eccles; his father James was a machine maker[1]

1861 Thomas Fletcher 31, tinsmith, employing 9 men and 4 boys, lived in Cheetham with Susannah Fletcher 35, Edward Fletcher 8, James Fletcher 6, Alice Fletcher 2, Mary Fletcher 0[2]

1871 Thomas Fletcher 40, Gas meter manufacturer, employing 36 men and 14 boys, lived in Heaton Norris with Sarah Fletcher 7, Emma Fletcher 5[3]

1874 Death of Susannah; married Eliza Dewhurst in Chorley[4]
