Thomas Richard Almond
of Fitchburg, Brooklyn, NY, & Ashburnham, U.S.A.
Born in Uppingham, England, in 1846. Emigrated to USA in 1866. Established himself in Fitchburg as a machinist. Married Eleanor Hortense Tollman. Business moved to Brooklyn in 1875. He was a prolific inventor, and took out many patents. His inventions included the Almond chuck, Almond flexible metallic tubing, Almond turret head tool. [1].
Almond sold his business in 1904 to treasurer Carlton A. Hubbell, who incorporated as the T. R. Almond Manufacturing Co. See here for much more information[2]
