1754 An advert for the sale of an estate contained the contact details: 'For further Particulars enquire Moses Davenport, Brass Founder, in Salford, or Thomas Rider, Iron Founder, in Long Milngate, in Manchester.' [1]
Rider had died by 1779, and the business was carried on by his son-in-law, John Fletcher. [2]
