1754 An advert for the sale of an estate contained the contact details: 'For further Particulars enquire Moses Davenport, Brass Founder, in Salford, or Thomas Rider, Iron Founder, in Long Milngate, in Manchester.' 
Rider had died by 1779, and the business was carried on by his son-in-law, John Fletcher.
