1851 Thomas Wingate 51, lived in White Inch, Glasgow, with Margaret Wingate 49, Grace Wingate 28, Margaret Wingate 22, Lillia Wingate 20, Thomas Wingate, engineer, 18, Andrew Wingate 15, James Wingate 13, Wilson Wingate 10, Patterson Wingate 8[1]

1861 Thomas Wingate 28, iron ship builder, lived in Govan with Jane Wingate 22, Jane Wingate 3, Margaret Wingate 2[2]

1864 His father retired from Thomas Wingate and Co in favour of his sons - presumably Thomas and Andrew.[3]

1881 Thomas Wingate 48, retired ship builder, lived in Partick, with Margaret P Wingate 22, Thomas Wingate 15[4]
