Maker of bearings and other engine components, of Park Royal, London

Vandervell Products of Western Avenue, Acton

1932 Company established by former racing driver, Tony Vandervell, who had become interested in the Thinwall bearings being produced in the USA. The company took a licence to manufacture Thinwall bearings.

1940 Private company.

1954 Tony Vandervell produced the Vanwall racing car.

1961 Manufacturers of bushings and bearings for cars, aircraft and ships.

1963 Motor Show exhibitor. Engine bearings etc

1963 Public company[1]

1967 Tony Vandervell died; he held a majority stake in the company which had to be sold to cover death duty[2]

1967 Vandervell Products was taken over by GKN[3]
