Walter Skull and Son, art chair manufacturers and upholsterers in High Wycombe.

1851 Walter Skull was a chair traveller.

1865 Gained the only prize awarded for chairs at Reading Industrial Exhibition.

1872 moved into Tilbury's factory.

1874 Supplied the order of 4000 chairs for St Paul's

Supplied chairs for various royal weddings, etc.

Mid-1880s One of the first firms to move into cabinet making. Built up own study collection of furniture.

1881 Exhibited at Furniture Exhibition at the Agricultural Hall, London.

1934 Taken over by Furniture Industries Ltd; the Skull name was kept for trading purposes.

1994 Factory closed
