1963 A majority interest in the Easterns group was acquired by Mr John James and Mr Norman Williams of W. and S. Williams (Kilburn)[1]. This became Williams Supermarkets

1968 Williams Supermarkets name changed to Williams Furniture[2]

1973 John James Group sold its two-thirds holding to Allied Carpet Stores
