1861 Wrote to the "The Times" pointing out that they had been invited to provide a design for the new Blackfriars Bridge but they never entered competitions for employment
1862 James Cooper died
1862 Proposed to take Nathaniel Beardmore into partnership but Walker died before this could be finalised.
On the retirement of Mr. Burges the business of the firm was taken over by Messrs. McClean and Stileman with whom Mr. McConnochie remained until March, 1865.[2]
