1868 Death of his wife Eleanor. 'Oct. 6, off Aden, In the Red Sea, on her passage to England, Eleanor, the beloved wife of Walter Knox, Esq., general traffic manager of the Great Indian Peninsula Railway, Bombay. Tier end was peace.'
1869 December 31st. Died. 'Dec. 31, at Funchal, Madeira, aged 32, Walter Knox, late president and general manager of the Great Indian Peninsula Railway, Bombay, and formerly district superintendent of the London and North-western Railway, Birmingham and Liverpool.'
