Walter Slingsby (c1774-1945) of Walter Slingsby and Co

1881 Living at 18 Malven Place, Keighley: Thomas Slingsby (age 42 born Keighley), Worsted Spinning Manager. With his wife Hannah Slingsby (age 40 born Keighley) and their four children; Frank Slingsby (age 10 born Keighley), Worsted Spinner; Charles Slingsby (age 8 born Keighley); Walter Slingsby (age 7 born Keighley); and Fanny Slingsby (age 1 born Keighley). Also his mother-in-law Susannah Crossley(age 74 born Keighley).[1]

1901 Living at 37 Station Road, Retford: Walter Slingsby (age 27 born Keighley), Mechanical Engineer and Draughtsman. With his wife Annie Slingsby (age 27 born Keighley) and their two children; Charles H. Slingsby (age 1 born Halifax Illingworth); and No Name daughter Slingsby (age less than one month born Retford). One servant.[2]

1932 Marriage of his second son W. Norman Slingsby. Walter Slingsby of Highfield Villa, Keighley, and is head of the firm of W. Slingsby and Co. Norman is also connected with the firm.[3]

1934 April. Death of his wife Annie.[4]

1934 May. Marriage of his third son T. J. Leslie Slingsby.[5]

1945 January 9th. Died. Walter Slingsby, director of W. Slingsby and Co., Woodhouse Road, Keighley.[6]
