Marble Quarry Owners, Merchants and Manufacturers

Established: The business of William Walton about 1837, at Carrara; that of Richard Cripps in 1843, in Bristol; and of Charles Gooddy in 1864, in Liverpool. The two latter firms united in 1878 as Gooddy, Cripps & Sons, Ltd., and in 1900 amalgamated with W. Walton & Nephew, as Walton, Goodly & Cripps, Ltd. Incorporated as a Limited Company. Directors: Henry Kater Cripps (Chairman), Henry Gooddy, Sydney Bush Cripps, Gino Salvini, and R. Noel Cripps. Own large Quarries, Mills and Studios at Carrara, Italy. Also Quarries and Mills at Sagra and Equi 3 R 2 Valleys. Depots at Bristol and Liverpool. Staff: Fifty; workmen, over 900. Branches: Plymouth, Glasgow; Monzone, Massa, Avenza, in Italy. Agencies: New York, Montreal, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, New Zealand, Shanghai and Buenos Aires. Business: Marble Quarry Owners, Merchants and Manufacturers.
