Subsidiary of G. and J. Weir

1946 New factory built at Greenend by the Government and taken over by Weir Housing Corporation for the manufacture of pre-fabricated houses.[1]

1949 'Restrictions in the use of steel had led, he said, to a change in the production plans of the Weir Housing Corporation, and when present contracts end, they will not produce any more steel houses.'[2]
