1847 Partnership change. '...the Partnership heretofore subsisting between the undersigned, John Whittaker, George Higginbottom, Robert Smith, Eli Higginbottom, and Isaac Higginbottom and carried on at Manchester, in the county of Lancaster, and at Gorton, in the said county, in the trades or businesses of Paper Printers, Paper Stainers, and Embossers, under the firm of Whittaker, Higginbottom, Smith, and Company, was this day dissolved by mutual consent, the said John Whittaker and George Higginbottom retiring from the said concern, which will in future be carried on by Higginbottom, Smith, and Co...'[1]

Later became Heywood, Higginbottom, Smith and Co
