1941 We have been favoured with copy of a sumptuously produced volume describing the growth and achievements of the Willesden Paper and Canvas Works Limited, The Dux Chemical Solutions Company Limited, the Oriental Proofing Company, and Anti-Gas Limited. The book is of special interest to Rochdale because the founder of the original company from which this great business has developed was Mr. Elkanah Healey, a descendant of one of the oldest Rochdale families....It was (Samuel Healey) his son who became a pioneer in the development of the cuprammonium process of proofing and in 1873 he established an experimental factory at Willesden, North London, from which the world famous “Willesden” proofing takes its name. The present chairman and managing director of the associated companies, Mr. Colin John Healey, is his grandson, and it was he who established the youngest company of the group, Anti-Gas Limited, in 1937, for processing fabrics against gas and supplying A.R P. equipment....'[1]
