WILLIAM ARCHIBALD SCOTT, born on the 5th June, 1857, died at Southport on the 22nd April, 1913.
On completing his training, he joined the firm of Scott and Edwards, railway contractors, and for several years until 1882 acted as their chief agent on the construction of Holyhead Harbour works.
Afterwards he was agent for the late Sir J. T. Firbank and carried out important railway contracts at Hunslet, Leeds, and Ealing, London.
Latterly he was agent for Bott and Stennett, contractors, Westminster, and was in charge of their contracts in the London district for the Metropolitan and District Railways.
Mr. Scott was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 5th April, 1887.
