William Crosley (d.1796)
Lived in Brighouse for much of his life
1794 After working on the plans for the Rochdale Canal, Crosley was appointed resident engineer, initially with Henry Taylor but then on his own
Worked for Rennie conducting surveys of various other canal proposals.
Also conducted projects of his own and with others, including a Map of the County of Surrey (1793) with Joseph Lindley, based for the first time on National Survey data.
1796 Died, still employed on the Rochdale Canal.
