The death of William G. Bligh. M.Inst.E., of Toronto, retired executive engineer of the Indian Public Works Department, occurred at Calgary, Alta., on October 16th.
Mr. Bligh was born at Great Malvern in 1846.
He designed and constructed some most important irrigation works in India and Burma, and his hook, "The Practical Design of Irrigation Works" is a recognised text-book on the subject. He had in preparation a new and enlarged edition of it. He was a remarkable linguist, and during the war was employed by the Canadian Government in mail censorship.
