1868 Born in Stafford,[1] son of James Hutchinson, solicitor's clerk, and his wife Harriet[2]

1895 Elected an Associate of the Inst of Civil Engineers

1895 A civil engineer, joined the Sutton in Ashfield, Notts, Lodge[3]

1906 of Stoke-on-Trent

1908 of Hutchinson and Co, contractors building the Huddersfield to Mirfield Railway of the Midland Railway

c.1910 of Baldry, Yerburgh and Hutchinson

1916 of 21 Queen Anne's Gate, London SW

1923 Joined the board of Sir Wm Arrol and Co., looking after the general contracting side of the business.[4]
