William Huntingdon Wells aka Billy Wells, (1868-1954) of Indian

1869 Born in Winthrop, Maine, USA.

1902 Emigrated to England as an agent for the Stanley Steam Car

Traded as South British Trading Co

1907 Second in the Isle of Man TT race (twin-cylinder class) on a Vindec

1909 Returned to the USA where he met George Hendee who had started making Indian motorcycles and encouraged Wells to return to the UK and be his agent
