1883-5 Employed as District Engineer by the New South Wales Government Railways under John Whitton, engineer in chief.
1886 Elected an Associate of the Inst of Civil Engineers; District Engineer of Railway Department, Cooma, New South Wales.
1891 Became a Member of Inst of CE[2]
